CaMP Lab
The Culture and Moral Psychology Lab uses the tools of philosophy, psychology, and anthropology to investigate how people think about morality and how morality varies across cultures.
Some of our primary research questions include:
What do different kinds of moral judgments mean?
How does culture influence the ways people understand and express moral values?
Why are people negligent and how should we react to negligence?
Can we build research tools that are sensitive to cultural differences?
Why do groups polarize and how should we address this tendency?
In July 2024, we will start a grant on Building Empathy to Bridge Differences, a cross-cultural study of political polarization (in the United States and Brazil) funded by the Templeton World Charity Foundation.
